Cherry Mobile, which has built a reputation in the Philippines as a budget brand, has unveiled its latest line of Android smartphones: the Cosmos—aka “bigger and brighter” (than the “galaxy”?)—series.
The Cosmos phones all sport high-definition screens fronted by scratch-resistant glass; quad-core chips from MediaTek (the lowest clock rate is 1.2GHz); 1GB of RAM; backside-illuminated 18-megapixel rear cameras; and Android Jelly Bean 4.2.
They are also Miracast Wireless Display Wi-Fi Direct Ready.
Cherry Mobile Cosmos X
The handset is expected to be the cheapest of the bunch. It's thin and light, largely owing to its all-plastic construction. It also flaunts a 4.7-inch 720p Super AMOLED display and comes with an extra back cover that's either metallic blue or red, as pictured above.
Every unit comes free with a flip case and an extra rear cover.
