Jennifer Lawrence Reveals Behind Her Dramatic Haircut

Jennifer Lawrence generated quite a bit of buzz this week with a totally new and completely unexpected 'do. When she debuted the pixie cut on Facebook with no explanation whatsoever, everyone had questions. Why did she chop off her beautiful blonde locks? Was she pranking everyone and just wearing a wig? And, most importantly, what does this mean for Katniss's braids?

Luckily, she didn't leave us in suspense for long. On press for Catching Fire, she revealed the real story behind the chop. Even though the super short style is a pretty dramatic change, Jennifer insists the reasoning behind her new look is actually quite simple. After cutting her hair into a of-the-moment lob earlier this year, "it grew to that awkward gross length and I kept putting it into a bun, so I just cut it off," she explained. "It couldn't have gotten any uglier!"

While Jennifer's hair has never looked anything less than glamorous, we totally understand where she's coming from and it's reassuring to know that even celebrities have to put up with those awkward growing-out-your-hair phases just like the rest of us.
